stayed in Georgia for the long weekend

i don't know if i can call it lucky since having 3 long weekends here in the US only means i am staying here for too long.. but i'd say that's a lot better than not having any long weekends at all.

my first one, Memorial Day weekend, was spent in Florida. i went to Jacksonville with tina to visit my Ninang Aida. we checked out St. Augustine and we also had a Filipino feast (handaang pinoy kaya overflowing with pinoy food!)!

for my second, the Independence Day weekend, i decided to stay here in Georgia. i need to save some bucks for my 2 California trips and for my pasalubongsss.

vacation mode started when we were invited to have lunch with tasos and rod last thursday - july 3rd. we had greek food at the Veranda Greek Taverna somewhere in Alpharetta Hwy. i loved the Piklia Spreads (all delicious spreads served on a platter with red beets and grilled pita wedges) - the grilled pita wedges was really good. the appetizers (Tiropitakia, Calamari and Spanakopitakia) were equally nice and the sausage, lamb, pork and beef made me really full. i hope we'll get another lunch with them before we fly back home.

for july 4th, edwin, my vacationing friend from Austin, picked me up (and tina) for lunch. he was driving a blue mustang! we were so excited to get in his car and of course to have lunch at Pastis which we heard serves good French cuisine. unfortunately, when we got there, they have posted a sign which says that they will only be open from 5pm onwards for the holiday. we also checked out la strada which serves Italian food but like Pastis, it will only open by 5. crap! we were soooo hungry, no breakfast here! the nearest one we got was wendy's or IHOP. we chose IHOP - and we didn't regret it. after our uber late brunch, we went to starbucks for some coffee and chit-chat. i saw this really cute bearista and i purchased it immediately for my bearista-lover baby, gabriel. believe me, when i saw how happy he was, i know i made the right choice of buying it without thinking too much. edwin dropped us at the apartment a little before 7.

tina, arlyne and i went to Roswell High to see some fireworks around 730. it was ok but not really that impressive. by 11 we were already home.

july 5 started early. i slept around 2 in the morning but had to wake up around 7 to talk to everyone in Las Pinas for my lola's 74th birthday. everyone was around the laptop to see me (still really sleepy). i also told them that only those i see will get pasalubong - imagine my big extended family trying to make their faces seen thru the webcam. hehe.

right after our 1 hour chat, i was already getting ready for our Six Flags White Water adventure! and that was realllllly fun and tiring. i tried out Dragon's Tail and Tornado for a Maximum thrill (chickened out on The Cliffhanger), The Run-A-Way River for Moderate thrill and to get a Mild thrill, we checked out the Tree House Island, The Tidal Wave, The Atlanta Ocean, The Little Hooch River and The 100-meter Splash. The big waves on the Atlanta Ocean was a-ok and the big pail of water on the Tree House kept us coming back!

sunday was rest day.. i really needed one because of my stiff neck - the aftereffect of the Tornado ride. argggh! woke up around 9 but i know i can't make it to the 1030am mass. had brunch then stayed awake in bed until 3pm watching jDorama. edwin arrived a little after 3.. left for mass a little before 5 and had dinner at Pastis after that (glad it's open!). we had calamari, roast chicken, pasta and we tried their dessert sampler - creme brulee, profiteroles and crepes!

now, it's monday morning and i want to go back to bed! *kaya lang working day na pala.. ang bitin bitin naman ng long weekend* arkkkkkks!!!

i've been eating a lot of campbells soup lately and i'm not in the mood to have another one tonight.. not in the mood for nissin ramen or nido soup as well (my *baon* from pinas), which i usually have for substitute.

after work, i decided to drop by Publix Supermarket to look for whatever there is to buy. i got beef for my *beef tapa* and some shrimps that i'll cook in butter and tomato ketchup (recipe from pattie). i also got *patis* and luckily, i saw some somen noodles. yipee, miswa!! i arrived home around 6pm and cooked dinner for myself. my menu: miswa w/ egg and shrimp w/ butter and tomato ketchup. it turned out yummy (for me). tina and kat said that the shrimp was good, so i guess it was really good! i didn't share the miswa, my bowl was empty when they started to have dinner and the other half was already in my *baunan* for tomorrow lunch! hahaha! *damot*

im trying to stay away from rice on weekdays. i usually have soup or wheat bread or mixed vegetables (still no to green, leafy ones) with fish or chicken. but of course, saturdays and sundays are always an exception (especially when you have dried pusit).

jaysa, aika, tina, kat & i had dinner at olive garden last friday. we had a blast! i love pasta so i really enjoyed my food. after we had our soup and bread, we were stuffed already.. and then came the antipasti.. and then our pasta. whew!

we have the option to get either a soup or salad.. of course, i'd take the soup.. and i loved their zuppa toscana

SATC on its opening day

last friday, tina and i went out with tammy to see Sex and the City on its opening day (yes, the opening day - tina's been been waiting for this movie for 4 years, she said). tammy usually leaves the office early and since she lives near the theater, she offered to get tickets for all 3 of us (we expected a lot of people to see this movie so it's better to be sure that we buy tickets way ahead of schedule). earlier that day, i checked out maps.google.com to see where we're going. i don't like getting lost so i made sure i have the map to and from the theater. we left our place at 6:50 and reached AMC Theatre Parkway Pointe 15 at exactly 7:37 (4 minutes behind what google said). we got everything right - no wrong turns! we just had a hard time getting a parking slot.

as expected, the place was packed. tammy arrived 5 minutes before 8. we got 2nd row seats - most were taken or reserved. anyways, i still enjoyed the movie. it made me laugh and i got teary-eyed in some scenes too.

we went to Copeland's for dinner right after the movie. luckily, closing time was 11 and we got in around 1030. i loved their shrimp and tasso pasta (i hope i got that right). yummy! we had some photos taken before we drove back home.

on our way back, we got the first few turns right! but after that, everything was a mess. and so, our supposed to be 37 minute trip was extended to 2 hours. *Namumulto na kami* since we passed by a cemetery and the road is a never-ending Northside DR NW. hahaha. later we realized, we were already downtown. and i know i can't get home without a map. i called my honeyCoco (luckily, it was noon in the philippines) and gave him the street name where we are and i told him to find directions back to Roswell. and yes, we were able to get home in 30 minutes or so after that call. then i realized when we got home that we just really missed a left turn to mt. vernon and there is no *multo* after all - and yes, Northside DR NW is realllllyy long!

another weekend in florida

for the long weekend, i went to florida (again) to see my ninang aida. this time, i visited her where she lives - in jacksonville. tina accompanied me and greyhound took us to our destination. i booked tickets online and only paid $192 for the two of us - round trip. companion fare at 50% off is a really good deal.

our bus leaves at 1230am so we left for downtown atlanta a little before 10pm friday night - we already expected that we'd take the wrong exits. of course we had a hard time finding the greyhound station but we still made it on time to pick up our tickets (an hour before our scheduled departure). whew!

the atlanta station was chaotic. i was surprised to see a lot (and i mean a lot) of people late in the evening. it seems everyone was going somewhere for the long weekend. well, after 8 hours, we were in jacksonville. ninang aida picked us up and we went to their place to freshen up.. then we went to st. augustine (yup, the one with the haunted bed and breakfast inns). unluckily (or maybe luckily), i wasn't able to join any of the ghost tours. they start at 8pm or later i believe.. and that's too late already since we still have plans to check out the st. augustine premium outlet. i don't have any regrets. i realized the ghost tour might be too much for me.. and, i also got a lot of good stuff for my little babylogs at gymboree.

i got the "Pay-As-You-Go" phone (aka goPhone) from AT&T at walmart earlier today. i really think it was a good buy - $38.88 + 7% tax. it also has a $10 load. the unit is pretty simple though but it's a flip samsung phone.. *pwede na din* now, i can:

text honeyCoco for $0.15 (but he should reply on my Globe number so I won't be charged %0.15 for his text and he won't pay for international SMS)

honeyCoco can call me whenever he wants and i will only be charged $0.10/minute - i think he'll be charged $0.40. whenever he calls me on my Globe number, it charges me P100 for every connection, charges me again for the actual minutes and charges dax as well.

i cooked today. what an accomplishment. it was supposed to be beef w/ young corn but can't find it on publix or walmart. a can of corn kernels was a good substitute though. the sinangag rice (w/ garlic, butter and salt) was a nice match. i hope myCoco was here to try it... (he thinks i can only make good sauces). im so proud of myself!

mother's day without the babylogs

myCoco and babyCoco surprised me with a package from amazon.com for Mother's Day! and i was really surprised (and got a bit scared too). when i arrived at the apartment thursday afternoon, i saw a package on our door. when i saw it was from amazon, i was hoping it wasn't for me. you see, just a few days before, i cancelled an order (sony w300 and 2g memory card) from amazon because i already got the camera and memory card from circuit city. when i picked up the package, i saw my name. crappers. i didn't think it was from dax (he usually forget names - what more addresses). tina and kat were telling me it might be a mom's day gift from him. what a relief when i opened it.. they were books from dax and not a cancelled camera!!

thanks honey - you are so thoughtful. i promise to finish these books before i go back home. hahaha!

well, for my celebration.. i heard sunday mass and ate ice cream after dinner..

i also got a few things for myself from North Georgia Premium Outlet the day before :)

hopefully, next year, i'll be able to celebrate it with my family. *inggit ako sa mingoy's lunch nyo!*

my first week in Georgia

the week before i left for GA passed by too quickly. aside from preparing myself emotionally.. i had to buy a lot of stuff as well. thankfully, everything worked for me.

our flight was supposed to be at 625am of may 3 but we left the airport 3 hours after. there were some technical problems (some sorta thingie needed for landing is not functioning or something) and all of us had to get out of the plane and wait for the announcement on when we can board again. whew. talk about scared!! and this was the same plane that will take us from japan to detroit! well, we reached US safely and F-A-S-T. i think it only took us 10 hours to reach US (i might be exaggerating here but i tell you, we were really fast). when we reached detroit, everything was already settled (transfers and all). we were in atlanta by 730pm.

what happened after my 29th birthday? i got so busy with releases... then resignation... then turnover... then i had to start on my new job.

it's been 3 weeks on my new company and time really flies. i'll be leaving for the US on may 3 and this time, it's not a 2- month trip. i'll be on training in GA for 5 long months. thankfully, i'll be here for my honeyCoco's 30th birthday and gabriel's 2nd birthday (and Christmas, of course). *haaay nakuuu*. i hope i'll survive. i'll just watch kDramas or jDoramas and i think i'll be fine.

the little boy is growing up so fast. he repeats everything you say and answers all questions starting with "saan" by pointing his finger anywhere and saying "doon". he says "ayko" (for ayoko), "wag" or "no" when he doesn't like what you're asking him to do. he calls me and dax "daddy" and only calls me "mommy" when he feels like it. he calls "yaya" so loud everytime he needs something like "ater" (for water), "shoesh" (for shoes) and "gogo" when it's bath time. he calls his puppy "puppy" and we never bothered to give the puppy a name anymore. *haaaayy nakkuuuu* again. i'll really miss gabriel.

like me, dax is working on a new company. actually, it's his first day today. i hope we won't have a hard time adjusting since we'll be working separately. when i get back from the US, i'll be working in One-ECom in MOA and he'll be in Taguig. crap. good thing is, we'll have more stories to share.

i promise to post updated pictures of gabriel before i leave on saturday. and after that, it'll be all about me again in the US.

we had dinner in las pinas on the 31st but went home around 11pm. all the way from las pinas to cavite, gabriel was sleeping. i bet, he was sooo tired and really sleepy. we reached home in maybe 20 minutes and when it was already 12mn, dax and i woke him up.. we just wanted him to see the fireworks. he looked (no enjoyment here) and went back to sleep after a few minutes. i hope he'll enjoy the next one.

while dax and i were doing our christmas shopping, i saw this cute havaianas for babies in rustan's. i told dax i wanted to get one for gabriel.. and we did! the following morning, i asked the little boy to wear it just to see if he won't have a hard time walking using *tsinelas*.. he's walking by the way.. as in walks a lot.

we celebrated gabriel's 1st birthday twice. our little babytot's birthday was last friday and since it fell on a weekday, we had to celebrate twice. my mom prepared a merienda-dinner party for gabriel at home on the 16th and dax's parents gave him a mc donald's party on the 17th. the baby is so lucky. my contribution were his invites (i used the pictures from his photo shoot, added some text and had it printed) and give-aways (went to divi for this.. *nakakapagod din, ha!*)

dax and i got him a tigger stuffed toy and my parents bought him a remote controlled car. he liked both very much. aside from that, he has a lot of gifts since he had two parties. i can't forget his face while we were opening his presents! he was very funny then. everytime i open a new gift, he'll get really confused as to which one he'll play with.

every year, the homeowners association in our village prepares a a small halloween party for the kids. this is gabriel's first halloween so dax and i decided to get him a costume. we both agreed that we didn't want anything scary for the little boy and since dax likes superman, we opted to get him that. the party started around 6pm and a little before that we got him dressed up and we took some pictures. his costume was too big for him (this was the smallest already)! he didn't look irritated or anything but i know that he's not comfortable. we went to the party and left after maybe 45 minutes. he looks ok but he didn't enjoy it very much. maybe next year.

i've been very busy with a lot of crappy things for the past weeks and i didn't get the chance to blog. well, as usual, the little boy is still very *malikot* and still very adorable and the big boy is still very *makulit* and huggable. hahaha!

after the Glorietta 2 incident, myCoco told me that we have to minimize our mall visits. crap. Gabriel loves to go out and he definitely enjoys himself when we go malling. but of course, it's always best to stay at home to be safe. however, we had to go out 2 days after that. my babyCoco has a photo shoot somewhere in paranaque. our wedding photographers, bobby and maritoni (eleazar), gave us some gift certificates that included a free photo session for our first baby. i told dax we had to use it before Gabriel's first birthday to be able to use the picture for his tarp. aside from that, their studio is in their house and we can still stay away from malls. and so, we went.

after the photo shoot, dax suggested that we check out the KOI pet mall in magallanes. he said Gabriel might like it there. since we were already near magallanes, i said OK. he said he also wanted to have lunch at Racks (wipee, there's still one!).

at the pet mall, i saw KOI's which they are selling from 200 to 250,000 pesos! OMG, they are really expensive. i'm not sure if we'll get some for our Gabriel.. but we're definitely not getting anything above 500 pesos.

we went to Racks afterwards. the place was almost full as early 1130am. i guess a lot of people missed Racks. Gabriel really liked the baby back ribs with java rice. i think that was the most *subo* that he did since he started eating solids. dax kept on telling me that we might need to go there often for the little boy(or was it for the big boy?). hahaha.

oh well, i'll be really busy in the next few days. we have a lot of holidays, yes. but, i also have a lot of things to prepare for little Gabriel's 1st birthday!

BPI and Tokyo Tokyo Beef Misono!

dax and i are trying to spend less with food by not eating out. last week (or was it last last week?), on our way to the office, he told me we had to stop and get gas at Petron. we paid using my BECC (BPI Express Credit Card) and when i got the charge slip, it was longer than usual. and wow, we got a FREE beef misono at Tokyo Tokyo! well, after a few days, we tried it again.. and got another charge slip with a coupon. weee. we went to Tokyo Tokyo - People Support and i asked the cashier if i can use 2 at the same time.. she said yes but i have to order 2 red iced tea. well, that's fine i guess. 1 order of beef misono is 95 pesos anyway, so i'll still be saving 190. hahaha!

yesterday, we used 2 coupons again. and i still have 3. and... will have more in the coming weeks! by the way, no need for the "coupon" part on the charge slip. as long as you have purchased something worth 500 pesos or more, you can just present the charge slip with your BECC. you can also get up to a maximum of 5 beef misono's in one order. isn't life great?!

chocolates i love!

i love chocolates! i eat chocolates when i'm sad, stressed, happy, excited, angry, anytime. these are my favorites (not in any particular order):

1. Meiji Melty Kiss - i first had this when i went to HK with dax. it is sooooo good. soooo good i bought a few boxes to take back home. it melted though :(

2. Snickers - my first love. peanuts in my chocolate... yummy!

3. Nestle Crunch Dark Stixx - newest addition to my list. dax found this in S&R when we went grocery shopping a few weeks back. i liked it (but not instantly)! now, ill see to it that i buy a box or 2 (one for dax) everytime we go grocery shopping!

4. Ferrero Rocher (and Mon Cheri) - heaven.

5. Bar None - i used to eat a lot of bar nones back in HS. i wonder why they discontinued making this one. i really think its good. i miss.

i still have a lot but these 5 are definitely on my list. yummmmy!

babyCoco's 10th month

gabriel turned 10 months yesterday. usually, my mom cooks pancit for little Gabriel but since his 10th month falls on a sunday, we decided to just eat out.

our first stop was s&r. they have some items for sale and we checked it out first. it was still too early for lunch anyway and we have to wait for gabriel's aunt ann (w/ friend robert) and tito boogie. when gabriel saw the stuffed toys, he wanted us to put him there. well, here's another shot of gabriel with the toys :) dax also got him two toy cars which he really liked. i meant dax for "he". hahaha.

we went to alabang town center to have lunch at brazil! (brazil!) around 1130. luckily, we still got good seats since the place was still not packed. they served asparagus soup then we turned the yoyo green! divina with robert arrived then boogie followed. at the buffet table were salads, paella, pasta, tuna, chicken fingers, mashed potato, some veggies that i didn't try of course.. cakes for dessert... and that's about it. what's f-u-n was, they were serving the bbq'd meat non-stop. it took some time (for them to go to our table) though but it was alright. yummy. gabriel ate macaroni salad, mashed potatoes and he loved the mango cake!

right after lunch, we went to glorietta to get gabriel his new toy car. dax and i saw it last friday when we went to the mall for lunch. since it's his 10th month, we bought it for him. my mom got him a cap. he looks so good in it! he was so funny, he tried to remove it everytime but when my mom told him he looked really good and that he'll use when they walk around the village, he didn't take it off.

we went to bonifacio high street and serendra afterwards. we wanted gabriel to try krispy kreme donuts that dax and i loveee and we also want to try cupcakes by sonja with him. he loves sweets!

the moment we entered cupcakes by sonja, gabriel was doing his funny *takam* look. the store smells so yummy! but the cupcakes for me was ordinary (sorry). i think it's too pricey. anyways, gabriel enjoyed it. he got a box of mini cupcakes for free. i think it was because it's their first year anniversary.

we went to krispy kreme afterwards. he had some free donuts and a hat.

on our way home, he was sooooo hyper. too much sugar? yeah, i think so.

dax and i were so happy he enjoyed his sunday. he was really tired when we got home but still managed to play with his new car.

gabriel went grocery shopping

sundays are usually reserved for grocery shopping. yesterday, we all went to south supermarket and s&r in alabang. it was already 1030am when we left home and in less than half an hour, we were in the supermarket. dax wanted to try if gabriel would like to sit in the push cart. i brought his walkings with me just in case he wants to walk but it seems that he likes the moving pushcart a lot. he was shrieking and smiling. what we did was to give him whatever it is (that he can carry with his 2 small hands) that we'll be putting in the cart such as century tuna - flakes with lemon and butter. we also got him chuckie and some biscuits in animal shapes! i hope he likes them all. according to his pedia, we should start giving him more solids than milk. he might be more *payatot* though since he will need to adjust but he should lessen his milk intake.

after grocery shopping and a quick french baker lunch, we went to s&r which was just a few blocks away. i saw a mountain of stuffed toys and dax and i thought he'd like it. i was just worried he might grab each nose and start biting it (that's what he does with mickey and flabby and henry and all his other stuffed toys).

i woke up earlier than usual today. gabriel was crying and he was looking at me when i opened my eyes. he does this everyday.. he's my wake up call. anyways, i prepared his milk and picked him up after he finished 2 ounces (yes, just 2) since he kept on moving around and i think he wants to go downstairs. while i waited for breakfast, i made him sit in front of my 18 year old piano. and.. i took some pictures. i'm not sure if he'll want to learn to play when he grows up. i started my lessons when i was in grade 3 and stopped when i was already in high school (i think). i had recitals.. i played four hands.. and now, i have zero practice. too bad. dax had some piano lessons too but he liked the drums better. i wanted to take violin lessons when i was younger.. maybe, gabriel would want that! or, no instruments at all. haha!

4 days with gabriel

i had 4 straight days with my little gabriel - the weekend, a holiday and a sick leave :( myCoco brought me to the hospital on sunday night, was admitted and discharged the following day. i had some serious stomach trouble for eating too many pizza. thankfully, the lab results were not serious.

anyways, myCoco worked overnight (Friday to Saturday).. so for saturday, gabriel and i just stayed home while we waited for dax to be up. we played all day. he's so heavy now and i'm having a hard time to make him sleep (unless he's really really tired). his dad has this ridiculous dance and song number that lulls our little kulokoy to sleep - and that i cannot do. well, i have my own song for him but not much dancing and definitely not ridiculous. sometimes, i think gabriel just sleeps to be able to stop dax from singing. dax woke up around 4:30pm and i got ready to leave for a party with my mom. it's sad to leave my honeyCoco and babyCoco but it's a debut and gabriel doesn't fit. when we arrived home, at 12mn, they were both sound asleep.

sunday, we went to the mall to inquire at globelines. unfortunately, their wires haven't reached our village yet. crappers. i think gabriel got too tired from looking around so when we had merienda, he was sleeping. he woke up after a few minutes and ate some pizza (cheese, actually). on our way home, the too-many-pizza-stomach-trouble thingie started.

monday, gabriel visited me at the hospital. he was his usual kulit self and he kept on trying to pull my dextrose. luckily, somebody always gets his hand first. i can't imagine the pain if he'll be able to do it successfully. well, we still continued to play at the hospital bed. he was all over me and most of the time, dax had to pick him up to avoid further damage to me. i went home with them that day, yipee. though i wasn't feeling that OK yet, i know it'll be better to recover at home.

the following day, dax stayed at home as well to help mom take care of me and gabriel. OMG. the little kulokoy is more kulit than ever and he's starting to be a brat. while i was changing his diaper, he kept on moving and so i told him to stop and i held his legs tight. he looked at me and said "HUHHH!!" with a red face and arms stretched firmly. he looked really stiff. i told him again to stop and he did. i won! oh well. i hope he learns what's good and bad and that he listens to us without the im-really-stiff-now look with some heavy crying. he actually looked funny but he shouldn't know he still looked cute.

long overdue post: i'm back home, finally

last august 10, after 90 days in ashburn, VA usa, i flew back home. it was a long journey but it was full of anticipation. i want to see my little gabriel so bad and i just want to kiss him all over. same with myCoco, of course. since dax and i became a couple (which was 1999), i think the longest time we were away from each other was 3 days or maybe 4. we usually see each other everyday since we came from the same university and still working on the same office. and during those years when we worked separately, he picked me up at the office to take me home almost everyday.

oh well, thanks to MSN Online and Yahoo! Messenger, i get to talk to them and see them online almost everyday so it was alright. however, seeing them but not being able to get real close was tough. especially on the first weeks and last few days.

august 9th, i was already checking in online at www.nwa.com. i was so excited that i've been packing for god knows how many days already. i have two 24x18x18 boxes with me to take home with shoes, bags, and a lot of other stuffs for pasalubongs. it was so hard to fit everything but it was fun. haha! i wish i had more money to get everything i want for myself and for my family. shopping heaven.

anyways, our flight (i went home with mark) was at 1240PM from Washington Dulles to Detroit. Then 355PM from Detroit to Nagoya, Japan. And finally, 730PM from Japan to Manila - that was august 11th already. thankfully, no delays. we even arrived ahead of schedule. dax, with gabriel and my tito boloy, tita charrie and cousin tinay picked me up at NAIA. gabriel was sleeping then but he woke up when i took him from dax. he looked at me for quite some time then he started jumping and shouting and smiling. he's got 4 teeth and 4 more that's starting to come out. he's a bit heavier and he sure is louder. when we reached home and i was unpacking, he was all over my luggage as if trying to see what i bought for him. he soooo loved mickey from ninang aida and he especially loves to bite the tail. the next day, mickey was smelling like promil gold. hahaha!

i am so happy to be back home.

my florida adventure

last weekend, i went to florida (courtesy of my Ninang Aida who reads my blog) to see Universal Studios and Disneyworld. here's my story.

thursday, 3:45pm

i left the telos building with randy and mark. they're taking me to washington dulles international airport. my flight for orlando leaves at 5:40pm. i'm thrilled. i went down the van around 4:00pm and just walked straight to the inspection area. i already checked in online and i don't have any luggage with me. everything went well... until i arrived at my gate. they said the flight was delayed and will leave around 6:40.. then 7:20.. then 8:40.. then 9:30pm. crap! thankfully i bought a magazine after i had my dinner. it kept me company. then i thought i should've just brought my lapitapi. anyways, by 9:30, we were asked to board the plane. i got a window seat and a girl sat next to me. after sometime, the plane didn't even move a bit. then they said they are still waiting for instructions or whatever and we can't leave yet until they get the permission or something like that. i think it was the weather. so, i decided to take a short nap. it was already late. when i woke up, it was 11:00pm. i thought i was in orlando.. but to my surprise, i was still in DC. after 40 minutes or so, the plane took off. my flight was delayed for 6 hours. we arrived in orlando int'l airport around 2am friday. i waited for my ninang and her sister tita lyn to pick me up. and, well they got delayed too since some roads were closed. hahaha. i slept around 4 in the morning and hoped that i'll be up in 4 hours.

friday, 8:30am

i'm up. have to get ready fast. we went to Universal Studios Florida. of course i have to get a pix with the globe.

we made a right from the entrance and checked out the following:

after Spider-Man, my ninang and i sat down for awhile while her nieces and nephews tried the Incredible Hulk Coaster. i didn't go with them since i saw three big loops and i know i can't take it. we saw some fireworks from where we're seated and just after a few minutes, they came back and we went back to home.

it was almost midnight when we got home. we slept and tried to get as much rest as we could for tomorrow is Epcot day.

saturday, mom's birthday

i woke up around 8:30am and took a quick bath before i had breakfast. ninang aida and i left around 10:00am and reached Disneyworld after a few minutes. Disneyworld in Florida has 4 theme parks - Magic Kingdom, Epcot, MGM-Studios and Animal Kingdom. i told her i'd like to see Epcot instead of the Magic Kingdom since i was thinking it'll just a bigger version of what i saw in HK with myCoco. theme parks here has lotsa round shaped thingie. i had my pix taken on Spaceship Earth which is the icon of Epcot (says wikipedia).

our schedule says we'd go around future world first then we'll move to the world showcase.

first on our list was Spaceship Earth and well, it is closed and will re-open sometime November. crappy but no big deal. we passed by Innoventions and went to:
1. Universe of Energy: Ellen's Energy Adventure (cool, with dinosaurs and all)
2. Mission: SPACE (green team only.. can't take spinning so i took the lite version)
3. Test Track (just got a FASTPASS and will return later)

8. Test Track (went back.. really fast cool ride.. i was a single-rider. ninang opted not to ride with me)

then rain.. rain.. while waiting for the rain to stop, we went to the character spot to have pictures with mickey. well, we got some bonuses.. they also have chip 'n dale, pluto, goofy and minnie! even after i had my pictures taken, the rain didn't stop. ninang bought some ponchos and we started walking again.. to the world showcase.

we just passed by Germany, Italy, American Adventure, Japan, Morocco, France, UK and Canada. it was still raining and it was hard to take pictures. we looked for a store where we could get souvenirs or something and stayed somewhere in the lagoon area near canada and waited for the fireworks - IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth.

here's what ninang aida got for my little gabriel. i'm sure he'll like it. it's bigger than him though!

we went to Orlando Premium Outlet and heard mass in a nearby shrine. we had lunch at Florida Mall and headed for the airport afterwards. i'll fly from olrando to atlanta and atlanta to DC. my flight to atlanta was delayed for an hour or less (at least it wasn't 6 hours). reached atlanta before 7:00pm and boarded the plane to DC by 9:00pm. i was already in DC by 11:15pm and mike with pattie picked me up. i drove home to ashburn, virginia. by the way, my flight to atlanta was delayed because they closed all the gates and moved all flight schedules for some security thingie. i heard there was a bomb threat but it wasn't confirmed.

it was definitely a fun-filled, lotsa-stories-to-tell weekend.

almost everyday, myCoco sends me pictures of our little boy. he's really big and *kulit* now and i miss him terribly. i always chat with them though and whenever i'm out somewhere, dax calls me and i talk to gabriel on the phone. he usually makes some sounds and he cries at times. last monday was his 8th month. in 4 months, we'll be celebrating his first birthday. not sure yet on where we're goin to celebrate. maybe we'll get the outback kiddie party! right. time flies...

we've been going out a lot lately and I haven't updated my blog for quite some time already. now, I'm back with lots of stories and pictures from DC and New York!

July 4, 2007
nothing special, no fireworks even. since we went out on july 3 to watch Transformers, we all woke up late on the 4th of July. and after lunch, we just went to the mall to see what's on sale. i got some cute shirts from the disney store and it only costs $3 each! we all planned to watch fireworks that night somewhere in Leesburg but only the people from apt 103 saw it. why? we were on separate cars. they found the park and we got lost. first, we made the wrong turn. then, we drove and drove until it was too dark and the road was too narrow. it was so funny, we just watched silent hill in the apt a few days before that event. anyways, that's all i got for my first holiday here in the US.

July 7, 2007
our Washington, DC trip. we were supposed to leave early in the morning, but it was already past 9 when we left. we took the van and parked at the vienna station (metro) and took a train to DC. in 40 minutes, we were already on our stop in DC - federal triangle. we first went to the DC tourist information center (or something like that) and got our brochures, etc. then, we started our looonnngggg walk. first on our list was lunch. we found a food court and right after we ate, we went to the White House. it was too far.. and we keep on stopping to get pictures. from there, we went to see the washington monument, lincoln memorial, smithsonian castle (5 minutes), the capitol, museum of natural history (10 minutes with guards following us and guiding us to the exit) and everything in between. we weren't really paying attention as to what time it was that's why we weren't able to really go around and check out the museums - they close at 5:30, except for the museum of natural history which closes at 7:30. for me, DC = walking, no food, closing time. nice fun pictures though.

July 13-15, 2007
new york, new york. we left the office around 5:00 last friday and went back to the apt to get our stuffs for our weekend trip to NY. we left the place and headed to vienna again. our bus to NY will come from DC and since we already went to DC the week before, i would think that we are already experts in taking the metro! this time, our stop was gallery place - chinatown.

we reached the bus station around 7:00pm and we were supposed to leave around 7:50 but, we boarded the bus at 9:30pm and left for NY at 10:00. crappers. if it wasn't too expensive, i would have chosen to take train (amtrak). we reached downtown NY (this is where chinatown is) by 2:00am. my friend from college, edwin, picked me up. i'll be staying with him and he's in charge of my NY tour. we slept around 4 in the morning and woke up early to get breakfast at the hotel. after that, we got our all-loop-tours ticket from gray line (thanks, edwin!), took the downtown tour in a double decker bus and went down somewhere near the ferry terminal/station to see the statue of liberty and ellis island. we passed by 5th avenue, wall street, the empire state and a lot more. the double decker bus is soooo cool (and hot)! as we were approaching liberty island, i was so excited! then, i got the surprise of my life, lady liberty is green and not too big. oh well. seeing her still gave me a different kind of feeling. never did i imagine that i'd be in new york this year. edwin and i also saw edmar there! small world.

we went to ellis island afterwards.

around 3:00pm, we decided to eat. we walked from the chinatown bus stop and went to little italy. yummy. i bet dax won't enjoy much, he's not a pasta fan. after that, we went back to the bus stop to see the rockefeller center. we decided to go see NY at night at the top of the rock instead of going up on top of the empire state. my reason - i wan to see empire state. i'm sure it's still a different feeling when you're IN empire state, well i can do that when dax (and maybe gabriel!) is with me :) we heard mass first in st. patrick's cathedral (very beautiful church) then we spent hours at the top of the rock while we waited for the sun to set. but unfortunately, it was 845 and it still wasn't dark. we decided to go down and get the night loop tour - which we did not regret. manhattan at night is beautiful. we toured brooklyn and after going around downtown, we went back to midtown manhattan and stayed in times square until maybe 1:00am and went to see macy's (closed), empire state and madison square garden. we went back to the hotel after that. we were already too tired and sleepy.

we woke up later on the 15th but still were able to have the hotel breakfast. dax would be envious, i always get something like the big breakfast from mc donald's. oh yeah, no hash browns, he wouldn't like it very much then. our plan for today was to check ground zero and then get the uptown loop tour (and maybe get some gray's papaya's meal which was strongly recommended by dax - he hasn't tried it yet, don't know why he keeps on telling me to eat there). anyways, we took the subway (and got lost) to ground zero. it was under construction so you really won't see anything there. we decided to go to central park then and maybe have lunch.

we took the uptown tour and had lunch in a japanese resto somewhere in central park west. i was already running out of time so we went back to times square 'cus i wanted to go back to hershey's and mnmsworld. i also want to see the wax museum and ripley's. but like i said, i didn't have much time so i just got gabriel a really cute shirt from mnnmsworld and took a cab to the bus station in chinatown. our trip back to DC was more than 4 hours. when we reached DC, we got dinner in a chinese resto and took the last train to vienna. we reached the apartment around 1:00am.

waking up for monday morning office was tooooo hard.

next, i'll be in florida! i'll go see universal studios and epcot (thanks to my ninang aida!). wipeeee! after florida, i think we'll go back to DC to check our the museums or maybe georgetown.

week 2 in ashburn

first week was fast. second week was expensive.

we ate out three times this week. well, it's noel and rene's last week here in ashburn so that's fine. they left for manila earlier today.

wednesday. banjara indian cuisine. lunch buffet. $12. no good. haha.
thursday. king's buffet. lunch buffet. $9. lotsa food choices. just so-so.
friday. cheesecake factory. $12. delicious. godiva cheesecake - yum yum.
friday again. landsdowne resort. free. volcano shrimp - the best!

i'll make sure that i'll go back to the cheesecake factory before i go back home. i hope i can bring home some blueberry cheescake for my mom - but i don't think it's possible. maybe a picture will do!

baseball: wii vs. stadium

my first baseball encounter was on wii.. and that's just last week. i got my first real baseball experience (well, just watching) at RFK Stadium in DC just a few hours ago. i was so excited when we got invited to watch... and even if i don't know what to expect.. i came with everyone else and left the office early.

gary was in charge of the wheel and don was his co-pilot. alwyn, randy and mike came too. when we got there, we were so excited and right at the parking lot, we took some pictures. we went inside the stadium and checked out our seats (i got 305 row 2 seat 9) just to be sure we know where we're sitting before we get dinner.

we went to red hot & blue to fill our empty stomachs. before the game started around 7:05pm we were already seated. it lasted until a little after 10. the experience was nice but the game was -- boring. i mean, 1-15?! haha! by the way, it was washington nationals who played vs. detroit tigers. tigers won.

finally, i can say that i have adjusted fully. why? because i woke up so late today. so late i wasn't able to hear mass. imagine, 1117am on the clock... and the only reason why i woke up was i got a knock because dax was calling. he's been waiting for me to go online for quite some time already and he needed to sleep *sorry honey*.

after lunch, noel, pattie, alwyn, mike, don & i left for great falls park - that was around 2pm. it was a short drive and only took us around 30 minutes to reach the place.

great falls park was ok. nothing really remarkable... and it was toooo hot. arrrghhh. we went to toys r us and marshalls afterwards. ooohh... i want to shop a lot for my little gabriel at toys r us! i need self control. i'll just come back when i'm like a week away from departure day.

my first week in Ashburn, VA USA

friday last week, around 800pm, our (i am w/ mark) plane from detroit landed washington dc. we were picked up by rene and noel and we headed to the apartment and reached the place in 15 minutes. i was thinking then that it'll be a long 6 weeks. well, not really. one week is over! today, another batch will be coming - randy, mike and pattie. well, i guess for mike and pattie, it'll be really long. they're stayin' for 3 months!

our trip to japan was very nice. and japan was a really interesting place. what's most fun was, i got DoCoMo signal. we only stayed there for an hour or so and we boarded the same plane for our loooonnnngggg trip to the US. i was able to sleep every now and then but it was so uncomfortable. and i get hungry every 2 hours... maybe since i don't have anything else to do but wait for food. crap... i should've brought along some chocolates or crackers with me. when we landed detroit, i knew we didn't have much time left to catch our connecting flight to DC. true enough, we had to rebook. luckily, we got accomodated at 530pm flight with $5 meal coupon. and all i got was some mcDonald's meal. then we waited.. and waited.. the plane took off around 645pm. crap again.

anyways, after a week, i think i've adjusted well already. our apartment is nice, i got my own room (until pattie arrives which is later) w/ my own bath. we've also got a van except for half of thursday and friday... and drivers (don, alwyn and noel)... and cooks (rene, alwyn & don). neat! a pool and jacuzzi is nearby - and yeah we can use it. we also got a gym which i won't be using even if i can. weather is comfortably nice... it's usually between 17C-23C for the past few days. not sure though when july comes - they say it's going to be hot. office is 5 minutes away by car and 15 minutes when we walk... and i got a laptop to use (i still ordered one with webcam so my little gabriel will see me everyday). everything is good, except that i don't have my family with me. maybe next time (if there is a next time).

a week before i left, our small-in-a-big-family went to los banos laguna to go swimming. i was so excited since this is gabriel's first real-pool-and-not-just-water-filled-tub experience. a couple of weeks back, dax and i got him a really cute swimming trunks and a baby float. he looks so cute and funny. the first time we put him in his float, he cried. and eventually, he liked the water and we pushed him an armful away to take these pictures. see those trunks? hahaha!

finally, after a little more than 6 months.. my little Gabriel was baptized. well, i got baptized when i was 14 months old, so i guess that's still early.. and we have the same reason.. we were waiting for the same person.. my dad, his papa.

it was a very quick everything. it took us less than a week to prepare. less than 30 minutes in church for the actual ceremony and maybe less than 2 hours at the reception.. quick way to spend money too! hahaha!

my first mum's day

last sunday was my first mum's day - and firsts never happen again (well for the same thing, i mean). we didn't do anything really special though. we (dax, gabriel and i) just went to tagaytay and had lunch with my mom and dad... and of course, took some pictures.

gabriel is so fond of menus (as in restaurant menus). the day before that, we had lunch at congo grille and dinner at poquito mas (we're trying to see which resto we're getting for his baptismal celebration/reception) and he was all over the menu. and it was the same joy in his eyes looking at dencio's menu in tagaytay. he is so so so funny.

now, i have another special day in my list - a day which celebrates me. my birthday and... mother's day!

myGabriel is almost 6 months old, time flies. now he can do things like:

* hold his bottle - not too tight
* laugh a lot - sounding like a cat
* smile a lot - it's also extra special when you say "Good Morning, Gabriel"
* talk a lot - or should i say make a lot of sounds
* crawl (almost) - he's like an "uod"
* smile at the camera - reallllly adorable
* cry when he sees a person (men) for the first time
* eat cerelac - stage 1
* cry when you stop playing horsey
* play "tagu-tagu" - his dad wants to call it "hide-hide"
* grab the cellphone when he hears somebody talking (on loudspeaker)
* look around for the phone when he hears it ring
* wait for mom and dad to wake up - most of the time when i open my eyes in the morning, he is staring at me and when i smile at him he smiles back and starts to be on play mode

a very good friend of ours came back from the US after 6 long years - arnie. i know we need a lot of catching-up.. so myCoco and i invited him and his friend edz to sleep over even just for a night. we also want him to see our little Gabriel. it was so nice to see them play together. everytime arnold raises his arms, Gabriel imitates him. very funny!

we had lunch last saturday at tagaytay and he so loved the sisig. he was telling us that he didn't want to eat at a filipino resto since he already had a lot of filipino foods for the past few days. his friend edz, picked dencio's and we're glad that they enjoyed.

i hope he comes back sooner than 5 years from now (as he planned).

everytime we get gabriel new clothes or stuffs, i would always ask myCoco to take pictures. that's why currently, my laptop HD is almost out of space (i'm exagerrating of course!).

we got him another overall the other day since he looks so cute in it at night. and.. he looks equally cute when wearing his sando w/ pampers during daytime!

lately, he's been very playful and it's also easy to make him smile (well, for dax - yes). myCoco imitates donald duck and this would give us a toothless smile from gabriel. after a few minutes though, he'll be tired of smiling and he'll look at us with big big eyes! very funny! he also has a habit of pointing at me.. and himself. he points at me when you ask him "sino ang kaaway mo?" and he points to himself when you ask him "sino cute?".. i know it's all coincidence, but it still makes us laugh.

last sunday, we went to zapote (where we used to live) to attend his 2nd cousin's 4th birthday party. we dressed him up but he slept almost the whole time. and during those times that he was up, all my tito's and tita's were playing with him - as well as my cousins. how i wish he could grow up in that environment. cavite is a bit too sad for mylittleCoco.

last january 28, we went to pink sisters in tagaytay to visit dax's lola madre. it was her 75th birthday and everyone from their family was there. we thought it was a good idea to bring our little angel so that everyone will see how cute and big he has become. true enough, everyone was so excited to see him except for one (who said they don't bring babies out at 2 1/2 months) haha. yeah i know he is too small but we just wanted his lola madre to see him. we got her blessings for gabriel though!

myCoco's brother, boogie, and sister, divina (aunt ann to gabriel) were there as well. does aunt ann look like little goobie (well, she calls gabriel that)? i saw her baby pictures once and gabriel does look a lot like her then.

one of the things i thought i wouldn't be able to do was to bathe gabriel. he was soooo tiny during his first few weeks so i didn't dare do it. my lola was the one to give him his first bath at home. then everytime after that, i always make an excuse and ask somebody else to do it for me. well, even my mom didn't dare do it. haha!
myCoco and i, during one of our looking-for-baby-stuffs-mall-trip found a very cute (and very expensive!) bathtub from fisher price. i thought it was perfect for gabriel.. so the day after we took him home, myCoco went out to buy it. and now that i am doing the bathing, i would say that it's a must to get one for a newborn baby. very easy to use and really convenient for both me and myLittleCoco.

gabriel is now 63 days old. turned 2 months 2 days ago - which means i am already back to work. i hope SSS gives 1 year maternity leave for normal delivery. i really can't get enough of myLittleCoco and i am having a hard time every morning when myCoco and i leaves the house for work. like this morning, it took us awhile to leave because he threw up. and on our way out of the house, he was looking at us with those eyes again.. it looks like he was begging for us to stay.. then he cried (well, i think he cried because he was hungry.. haha).

i miss:

- trimming his really small finger nails

it was one super memorable experience. i can't forget everything that happened november 16th 2006 except the part where gabriel actually came out!

12:00mn: i woke up having a weird feeling of wetting my bed. i'm 27 years old, married and pregnant and i wet my bed?! haha. the words that first came out my mouth was "mom...". myCoco is on the night shift and i sleep with my mom since were kinda anticipating that our little gabriel will be out anytime soon and someone has to be always with me. my mom told me, i am about to give birth.. my water broke.

12:05am: when i finally realized that that was it, i called myCoco and asked him if he could come home to bring me to the hospital. i was calculating and thinking that he could be in cavite (where we live) from makati in about 40 minutes. he said ok, still relaxed (or trying to be) and he told me he'll just make a quick turn over of things at work. i think he left makati around 12:20am.

while waiting for dax, i got the video and the digital cameras. i made sure everything that we packed a few days ago won't be forgotten (which includes our baby's clothes and dax's coke light).

1:00am: myCoco was already home. almost all stuffs were already in the car before i went down. i told dax to be cool, we still have a lot of time. i know we do because there was NO PAIN at all. we were just worried that my water broke. i was even telling them that the doctors might just ask me to come home again and wait for a few more days.

1:15am: we were already at the hospital. i was asked to fill out a few forms and answer some questions. after a few minutes, they told me i will give birth TODAY if everything goes well (labor and all). they contacted my OB-GYN and they said she'll be in by 4am - i think not. they contacted my pediatrician, anesthesiologist and cardiologist as well. myCoco and mom was asked to get a room and i was brought to the labor room after an hour or so. they did some internal examination and told me that i was still at 1cm however, i have to give birth as soon as possible because my water already broke.

2:30am-6:00am at the labor room: still no pain here. i was thinking, if this is labor then it is easy. haha. i think they did something to induce labor by 6am.

7:00am-i don't know when: oh my good lord, IT WAS REALLY PAINFUL. whatever they did to me really worked and i was having contractions. i was crying and was about to ask the nurses to call for my mom and dax. i was so scared and i really felt bad cause i was alone. i heard somebody said i was at 3cm. i was having contractions every 5 mins, every 2 mins, every 3 mins. i was brought to the delivery room i think where they injected novane. they were telling me they cannot do epidural anaesthesia yet (i really don't know why). then i heard somebody say, maybe it's not at 3cm anymore because the pain it gives me was like actual labor (i think). then blah blah blah.. blah blah blah.. knockout! i woke up after a while, still dizzy with a blurred vision. i only recognized my OB-GYN telling me that i can do it. then.. knockout (i really didn't know what happened afterwards).

by the way, i was getting epidural anaesthesia since i have a mitral valve prolapse and according to my OB-GYN, she could not let me experience the pain of labor. what?! if what i experienced was not pain of labor yet.. then i can really say that i cannot experience the pain of labor.

3:30pm: i heard somebody said "mrs. solis.. ililipat na po kayo sa room nyo in a few minutes". i looked at her, touched my tummy and said "nanganak na ako?!" she said "opo".. i said "san na ang baby ko?" and she said, "nursery".. whew.. it was over.. and i don't know how gabriel came out.

it was a normal delivery and our little gabriel is healthy and doing well (me too!). he's 5.5lbs at 45cm. really really cute and he smells so nice!

working from home

do i really like to work from home? yes and no.

yes because i don't have to travel to makati all the way from cavite. i hate the heavy traffic. i hate waking up so early so i could leave the house at 6am. i hate driving - my tummy is really big now and i'm having a hard time with the wheel. i also hate not seeing myCoco while working.

no because it's so hard to work with my team using Yahoo!Messenger and emails. and since i get logged off by YM every now and then - it makes things worse. warks! and i hate not being able to join friday dinners with my college friends :(

in a few weeks, or maybe sooner than i expect, i might be required by my OB-GYN to just work from home or maybe take bed rest again. im getting a lot of braxton hicks contractions lately and it is really so uncomfortable. im on my 34th week and im expecting gabriel to be out in 6 weeks. really hope he waits for 6 more weeks.

this week has been dax's week.

after almost a month of finding a laptop for the computer perquisite, finally.. myCoCo was able to get hold of his acer aspire 5562. bpi madness will surely make you go crazy. it did make me crazy listening to dax's *pangungulit* - buying a laptop, going to glorietta, calling BPI to check my credit limit, etc etc... whew, i really thought it was over.. but after he got the unit, he started mentioning about getting accessories for it. so dax. good thing about it, he's not gonna use my laptop anymore :) that's junior 1.

now about the second junior.. yesterday, we were supposed to go to my OB-GYN for my monthly check-up. unfortunately, she wasn't around (again). *sayang for them* we were supposed to get a recommendation form for the 3D ultrasound that the hospital offers. we just decided to go to festival mall in alabang to check out the OB-GYN Ultrasound Center that also offers 3D/4D ultrasound procedure (this one's got live 4D motion)!

we waited for quite some time after we had lunch and then finally it was my turn. i was kinda nervous about how our baby would look like.. if he/she was ok there inside and a lot of other things occupied my mind. dax called my mom so she can see as well and then we got a first glimpse of our little one! the doctor asked us if we already know the gender.. we said no. she moved the doppler a bit and there it was.. dax got his junior. nyahaha! according to them who were seeing the monitor in a better angle, our baby looks like dax. dax says little dax looks like his sister who looks like him).

our baby's got loonnng fingers.. we saw it clearly - his hand was covering his whole face on the first few minutes! dax had to talk to him so he would remove it for us to see how he looks like. he was also frowning at times - never smiled! could he be so *masungit* like me? we are oh-so-excited!

after 48 years! im back. the past few months has been the busiest time of my life. got married january 7th this year, went to bacolod for yet another wedding reception, went to HK for the honeymoon, got a scratch from our dog, found out that i was pregnant after getting the shots because of the dog scratch, got hospitalized due to some pregnancy related issues, was advised to be on bed rest for almost 2 months, went back to work on weird schedules and now, counting days 'til i myCoco's first birthday with me, 'til i give birth, 'til Christmas, 'til New Year, 'til our first wedding anniversary.. and a lot more (i think i'm also counting the days 'til the anniversary of my dog scratch!).

i'm backers after a super long absence from the blogging community.

today is my first week at GXS - my new office - and i don't have much stories about work yet. almost everything looks a lot like enterworks.. except that the place is bigger (*4). my workstation is greeny too and i brought along my Starbucks Bearista friends to keep me company since myCoco is now on the other side of the street. i also miss my laptop but my machine here looks neat anyway. i have my jerry yan calendar with me too! phone here is super cool and i have a whiteboard all for myself which is ultimate coolness (that's the white thingie on the right of my pc)! they gave me office supplies on my first day and they gave me my pc on my 3rd day (which means, i just read and read until i got my pc). washroom is just as nice.. i think they have unlimited supply of toilet paper! nyahahaha!

pantry here is cool as well. it's got a nice view of the world down there (as if 36th is super up there)! myCoco went here for lunch earlier and he was awed. i hope he could come over everyday for lunch and bring me Tapa King once in awhile but he'll be on graveyard shift starting Monday next week and will only be a sleeping-normal human being by december! *buti na lang* since our wedding will be on january. and by the way, pantry has unlimited paper towels! and what myCoco loved most was the coke vendo! i miss free pine-orange juice though.. even the iced tea that i only drink once in a blue moon.

oh wells, have to work again and be bibo. else..

finding a dress ain't easy

aside from getting the right fit, right price and right style.. i need at least 4 days to find one! tomorrow will be one of our soon-to-be-ninongs 5oth birthday party and it took me 4 days to find what i will be wearing. i was hoping to find a nice dress.. but then.. i settled for the slacks-blouse thingie.. it's comfortable and i can wear each with something else. not cheap though. argh.. that's what happens when you don't have much time too look for something to wear (4 days ain't too much time).

sunday, i went to makati with my mom. we were at the mall right after hearing mass. we had lunch at sugarhouse (yep, they have rice meals and pasta.. i used to not know).. we started looking for the perfect dress. after a few hours without any luck, we ate again at mexicali.. didn't make my stomach satisfied though.. and we looked again until i found a skirt.. i bought it hoping i could find something to pair it up with.. demmits.. i didn't find one. but it's really nice! after more than 7 or 8 hours at the mall, we decided to go home.. frustrated and very tired.

the next day, my ever-so-patient-fiance, honeyCoco went to the mall with me. he loves to criticize the couches on every dress shop.. promise! that became his hobby since he always goes with me whenever i look for shoes or clothes. of course, i didn't find the right dress.

this is saturday. this is athena. this is a piece of my future with dax. this is what im looking forward to this year. this is exciting. this is a new life. this is unfinished.

i'm actually not sure now if this is a good thing or a bad thing.

travel: travelling from cavite to makati for work will take 2 or more hours of my time. usually, i leave the house at 730 to be at the office by 8 or 8 something. when i live in cavite, i might need to leave the house before 6 to be in early. that means less sleep or less TV. hmpft. travelling from cavite to alabang town center will take 15 minutes though.. thanks to daang hari! and travelling from athena to tagaytay will only take 30 minutes! cool! when i say starbucks, it would mean starbucks in tagaytay!

family: we now live in a compound together with my mom's family. i can just go from one house to another if we don't have anything for dinner or something. i can use their phone when ours is not working. i can call for my cousins when i want to play *haha* or just chitchat about anything. in athena, they are just neighbors.. not family. hmm.. no one would bother me for assignments, printing, scanning, naruto, computer games, etc.. but that's just it.

environment: no more kids playing on the street of bonifacio. no more taho and balut shouting. no more, "ate (referring to my mom) bili na ng prutas.. si suki ito!" it will be different in athena, it will be moos here and there!

there could be a lot more comparisons that i can make. i guess it will take some time for me to adjust.. but it's a whole new place and a whole new life. etivac, here we come!!

waiting is over. but i have to wait again until september.. for hongkong.

i missed blogging. i was in cebu over the weekend and it was a different experience.

imagine:

* going to cebu just to catch jerry yan for 20 or so minutes?!
* talking with japanese girls who cannot understand english?!
* no lunch for two consecutive days?!
* i had to walk with my backpack (very heavy) all over downtown cebu?!
* i was at the airport and they didn't allow us to check-in early leaving us no place to stay waiting for our flight?!

it was a second time for me in cebu.. the first one was for work though and i didn't really get the chance to tour the city.. so this time, i brought a trusty map with me and it really helped. the next time i go travelling, i'd make sure i have a map. haha!

nĭ hăo! this *shuai guy* is jerry yan and i'm actually one of those who are too crazy to follow him around. like almost everyone else, i started to like him in meteor garden as dao ming si and followed his career/lovelife/etc since then. silly, huh?! i even attempted to go to taiwan when he released his first album. too bad my dad was here for vacation and i of course, couldn't leave. what i did was to buy all versions of the album that came out and i asked a friend to get him sign one of my copies (i got my autograph!). yes, of course.. these albums have the same songs.. but with different pictures and freebies that came with it so that's fine.. a bit expensive though. on friday, i'm flying to cebu. yes, indeed.. jerry will be there! i'm hoping that i'll be able to get the chance to get a handshake of this man that i admired for quite some time already. waaaaah. i'm soooo excited!

by the way, that pix is extra special to me. i was the one he was looking at *joke*.. i was the one who took it.

tea @ kimono ken

had lunch with my mom yesterday at kimono ken *i miss myCoco everytime i eat japanese food*. after doing doing some shopping we decided to eat at around 130pm. at least we have enough space to fill.

japanese food + mom doesn't match. my dad and myCoco and me (not all the time) loves it! i told her my secret: i go for the safe side when ordering. no sushi/sashimi. just salad. teriyaki. tempura. chahan. always ask for tea. it's free. and refillable. i think we asked for tea more than 5 times. i told her we were asking too much already.. true enough, the last refill that we got tastes like water *nakahalata na yung nag re-refill*

best things in life are free? not really. we still paid for lunch.

commercial: if you have time, drop by the japanese store in park square 2 (or is it 1?) near the ayala terminal.. there's a lot of snacks that you should try. japanese chocolates, the best.

thank god it's friday. i'm sure it's gonna be a long day!

myCoco was supposed to cook lunch for me today and some of our friends but he was sick last night he had to even miss work. *wawa si coco* glad he's better today.

this time next week, i'll be in CEBU with my www.tsinoy.com friends waiting for ah xu.. waaah! i'm super excited cus the last time i saw him was so *bitin*.

this is myCoco. we've known each other for more than 7 (or 8 - ala mr & mrs smith) years already.. been a couple for more than 6 years and i can say that the times that were spent with him were the best times of my life.

we met in college and became good friends and as they always say to cut a long happy story short, "the rest was history"..

i love spending time with myCoco and i'd really like to go travelling the world with him. what he loves is spending time with his car though. but that's fine.. really! he used to love computers more than me, now he loves his brand new car more than computers.. i'm third in line, you know. he named his MZ3 emma (cus that's my other name and he just feels like using it).. FGS, the car's got a name?! haha!

myCoco is really very understanding.. and he always try to make our relationship work. not a real gentleman though.. and not very thoughtful too. but he learned his lessons well on the 6 years that we've been together. *good boy dax, good boy* haha! he knows how to please me, but all the more my parents and all my relatives. now he's an angel and everyone in the family is in love with him. two thumbs up!

we love to eat. we love to watch movies and eat. we love to go "swimming" and eat. we love to play around with my cousins and eat. we love to try the new restaurants and of course eat. we love to take pictures (and eat.. not! might get the camera dirty). he loves to cook, i love to eat! this eat list could go on and on but most importantly, we love each other and we love being together.
